Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the O'Leary Labs app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility & accounts

O'Leary Labs is invitation-only: you may join a chapter only if an administrator has allowlisted your email. You are responsible for your account and for the accuracy of the information you provide. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, defamatory, or obscene.
• Impersonate others, infringe intellectual property, or violate others’ privacy.
• Spam, scam, distribute malware, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

User content & moderation

You own the content you post and are responsible for it. You grant O'Leary Labs and your chapter a limited license to host and display it within the Service. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Members can report content or users and block other members directly from a member’s profile. We review reports and may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts, typically within 24 hours of a report.

Payments

Some chapters charge for events or membership dues, processed by Stripe. Fees are shown before you pay. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by your chapter administrator.

Account deletion & data retention

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone in the mobile app. You may also request deletion from our website at /delete-account (useful if you can no longer sign in); web requests are verified by our team before they are actioned.

When a deletion is initiated, your account and personal data are flagged for deletion and retained for 30 days, then permanently and irreversibly deleted. If you sign back in within that 30-day window, the deletion is cancelled and your account and data are fully restored. During the window the data is retained solely to enable this recovery.

On permanent deletion we remove your profile, posts, comments, messages, reactions, RSVPs, and chapter memberships. Records we are required to retain for legal, tax, or financial reasons (for example, payment/transaction records) are kept only as long as required and are disassociated from your identity where possible.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. A chapter administrator may also remove you from a chapter.

Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, O'Leary Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Content posted by members is theirs, not ours.
